HORTON

A NEW EP BY LAME BIMBO

This marks Lame Bimbo's 3rd project with PRE-SKOOL STUDIOS.And as Lame Bimbo as an artist. This marks 3 years in a row with a project every year.Last year I dropped an Album named "BIMBO" . Im so proud on the project it became over the course of making it and I will always be so proud of it.But it was hard for me to understand why it was hard for people to resonate with it.And I guess it just was not accessible to were people would immediately people feel something with it.So after I started to work on different types of old beats that I had and trying to make something way more accessible.I didn't really know were I was going next after BIMBO but I know I wanted to make something with a grasp of interest were people would run it back.Including myself. And also think it was time to make something fast pace with a little bit of rhythm.Luckily I did exactly that. From getting inspired from Billie's writing and then going from Dr.dre's (2001) Production I knew what I wanted to make.I then took a vacation to Mexico with my Girlfriend and family that made me change perspective of getting out there and making a change on yourself. Also some of my key production came from N.E.R.D Albums and all the Pharrell & Neptunes compostions. I was working and arranging different beats I had from the past but nothing was really working out.Until I found the "Mr.Stunna" Guitar chords that I had once worked on a couple moths prior. And that's were I figured out the drums and 808's on that track. And most of my writing for that track came from that moment also just wanted to write something with a little bit more tone that I had done before. So that's definitely when production started for this EP. A month later was dealing with troubles were was devastated coming back home to my same ol life.Going to Mexico was a different experience were things didn't constantly feel like everyday was the same and Everyday was a new adventure to explore.I fell into a small raft of depression of constantly feeling like my life was the same and although was happy around my loved ones I was constantly sad at the part it felt the same. And that's were the idea of the title came about. The idea of falling into the government life were everyone goes to work and back everyday and why change it up cause its what most people will do."Horton" the name inspired by the movie "HORTON HEARS WHO" were the "who's" live in the same routine EVERYDAY.Until this elephant named HORTON shakes things up for them.Because the "WHO'S" Live in there own small little planet "Horton'" Was the avatar that found them lying inside a small spec of dust. And changing there lives. After that I started living day by day with a purpose and bettering myself cause the life I was living was causing problems with my partner and family. Working on "Horton" was so nice to just focus on something with purpose one of my best projects. After that I went to Orlando,FL and pulled lots of inspo from the small experience and Made some of "Is The Beach Far From Home?" arranged some of the strings from ''Bendiga Los Homies"And also some parts of "KIDZ GROW OLD" way before I even know what it was. After came back to Chicago worked on two of those tracks a lot.Had this track named "WONDEROUST'' and it was a shit show it was set to be a track on the EP.So I dropped it because it was just ass haha.Thats when I worked on some different tracks,Checked out the strings of Kids grow old that I worked on in Orlando. Finally focused But did not finish until I took those tracks to Punta Cana,DR and finally wrote them finished most of them and ''Horton's Sunrise'' came out of it.Continued working on Kid Grow Old but at this time it was set to just be a interlude. But Punta Cana,Dr was the place that mostly the inspo I needed and its also were I shot the album cover and took over like 500 shots until I found the exact one I needed and it was just perfect.I knew it was a shot in that I would keep definitely. Didn't knew officially until The "TEAM FRIENDSHIP'' helped me out and figured out which shot was the best but I'm so happy they chose that final one. After DR I continued working on that project enjoyed my summer.Dropped "MR.Stunna" And it did really well felt like people really enjoyed and it was something different that I had done and some people looked it as one of my most professinal songs and my most catchy.Tried to get some people but honestly I just want to say fuck those people who didn't want to work with and the ones who said and then ended up ghosting all y'all some pieces of shit. But anyways this was the summer by the end of it I would be moving away and it was a big moment for me and my girlfriend but I was nothing but excited. At this point I thought Horton was in a great place I had finished about 4 tracks just about re recording and mastering the tracks.Moved to State College,PA and this is where finished the project. This is where me and my best friend Kleber worked on KIDZ GROW OLD and got the ball rolling. And also he helped me figure out "Horton's Sunrise" & "Is The Beach Far From Home".From there I recorded and focused and mixed and mastered the project.Took me so long to get this project in order and it has been an amazing month of finishing it.This project has been a big piece in my career that im so proud of it explains my life at this time so perfectly and has made memories for it being the funnest project I have ever done.HORTON the EP out on September 27th. Officially out now and I'm trying to take care of it.
